I am a Media and Arts Major at James Madison University in Virginia USA and live and work in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
I light of the Gulf of Mexico disaster and the potential for hydrofracting within Virginia, I was interested in how the Oil and Natural Gas Industries utilize social media for crisis management and public relations management. This is what spurred the creation of this blog.
It is not intended to be an endorsement, criticism or social commentary on how natural resources are extracted or utilized. It will however examine how new media is being used to transmit and receive messages from this industries constituents.
